Final, Updated Flash Website

Here is my final rendered version of my scuba diving gear flash website! I fixed the "wear" button so it no longer stops and freezes, I fixed most of the extra white space around the flash stage, and made the "shopping link" on the home page easier to use and more visible. The site feels more finished now, I love it! Hope you enjoy! :)

Scuba Diving Flash Website

Here is my first attempt at creating a flash website! I decided to create my website on one of my new favorite things to do: scuba dive! I had to narrow it down quite a bit, since scuba diving in general is a broad topic.

It still has a few kinks I need to work out, such as the "wear" button. If you click on that button, make sure you click on a different one (like"see" or something), then go back to the home page to see the other pages of the site.

Hope you like it! It was fun to learn about Flash and create a little website! Check it out by clicking here

Bundle and Bloom Design

For my brand identity design class, we all got to create our own clothing company- the whole thing! The name, logo, package design, everything, was up to us! This was our final and was a lot of fun to do :)

My company is called Bundle and Bloom. It's a infant/children's clothing company- kind of an upscale baby boutique I guess. I chose green and pink for the colors because bloom is a pink color and green fit well with it, the overall design, and made it more neutral and not too feminine of a design. The green looks darker in print, so it's harder to see here :(

Older School Projects

I wanted to include some assignments I've done throughout college- I will add more as I have pictures or files of them. Most of the hand-drawn stuff isn't on here yet, put here's a sneak peak. P.S. they are all in a random order, so I'll just say what class and year they are from :)

Typography Animation

This was a lot of fun. Now that I'm getting the hang of how to do things, it is fun to create videos using Flash! Here's my animation from anchorman. Hope you like it...

FLASH- something new

Today we got a demo on Flash and got to create our own motion and shape tweens in our flash demos. I definitely have a lot to learn about Flash, but from what I've seen so far, it can create some pretty intense or fairly simple animation projects. Looks like it will be fun! I created some very basic (and beautiful might I add...) flash videos. Might have to put them on here later...:)

Dahlsrud Farms Website!

It's finally finished! After long hours of living at the UR lab, I'm pretty impressed with what I have learned throughout this html website. It still has a few things I would like to change, but for now click here to see it! :)

Happy Fall Break everyone! :)

New PHP attempt...

Someday, SOMEDAY I WILL GET THIS all in my brain the first time around! I'm learning though...click here to see my php links (I only created page links on products, contact us, and facts) so home and about don't have links that work- right now. It's nice and vibrant colors huh? Just for fun, not really designed you know. Hope you enjoy! :)

Digital Compositions: Definitely a Work in Progress!

Here are some digital compositions for my site. I have four different looks for the site (all pretty cohesive though, I think), but they have a few differing elements in them. I'm making a family website for my dad's business, Dahlsrud Farms. I think it will turn out to be an interesting and fun website for my family and friends to look at.

It still has a long ways to go, but there's an overview of where I am so far. :)

HTML Tutorial

For class today, we all had to present our own tutorials. I did mine on anchor links (thanks for the idea Dave!). I learned a lot from it and hope I can keep up with all this stuff! Web design is definitely exciting and there's a lot more to it than I thought. I will for sure give a lot more credit to web designers everywhere!

Anyways, here's my attempt at giving a tutorial.

What do you think?

My first attempt at a web page!

The link below is the very first web page I have ever created. It's lovely, isn't it? Our class created these a few weeks ago without knowing how to design the pages to look good; we just learned first how to create the html codes for them. Anyways, here is my first attempt at html :)

This semester so far...

Has been pretty fun and I've already learned a lot about web design- although there is still a lot to learn! So far in my classes, I have learned how to:
  • Create basic HTML sites
  • Make a student tutorial (currently in the process of that!)
  • Create abstract pictorial marks, letter marks, and word marks
  • Understand more of the business side of things involving design.
I hope I can learn how to master all this stuff! I have a friend who creates web pages and wants me to help her design those web pages for clients! Sounds like a lot of fun, I just have to figure out how to do it all first! :)

About Me

Hi, I'm Devri Frandsen. I'm a senior at Utah State University, where I am studying graphic design. I've always been interested in art and design, whether it be interior design, graphic design, fashion design, etc. I've been drawing since I can remember and love working with several different mediums. This blog will be about my design progress, art classes, and experiences along the way! :)
